We’ve been following Theophilus London’s career ever since we got our hands on his second disc, This Charming Mixtape. His new music video dropped yesterday on MTV2 and is top notch.
Theophilus London is definitely one of the more unique artists I’ve ever come across. His flow is quick but full of passion and excitement. And his beats are deep, dancey, and energized. It’s almost impossible not to find yourself dancing uncontrollably to his tracks regardless of if you’re a hip-hop fan or not. Simply put, he’s not just a hip-hop artist, but also a vibrant messenger of new wave, world, electronic, pop and soul. This multi-genre approach definitely comes across in listening to his music.
We saw his show on the 10,000 Pound Hamburger Tour with A-Trak and Treasure Fingers at Webster Hall and he was easily the highlight. The vibe I got from the show was that Theo was actively engaged in making the crowd feel as though they were a part of the performance, and because of this he really stood out.
We know Theophilus is going places because his appeal is far reaching and he keeps generating original, provoking material. Check him out, he’s definitely got some big things coming in the future.
